TGI Announces No Maintenance Fee Increase Guarantee for Enterprise 21 ERP Software
Toledo, OH – April 12, 2010 – Technology Group International (TGI), an ERP software solutions provider for manufacturing and distribution businesses, announced today that the company is offering a No Maintenance Fee Increase Guarantee for all new and existing customers that use TGI’s Enterprise 21 ERP software suite. TGI’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Smith, stated, “In the past 18 months, we’ve spoken with a number of businesses whose existing ERP software suppliers have increased their annual maintenance fees at a radical pace. At TGI, we believe escalating our customers’ annual maintenance fees over any period of time is an inappropriate business practice that is not conducive to positive working relationships with our customer base.” Read More...
TGI, which has never increased the annual maintenance fees charged to its customers since the company was founded in 1990, formally guarantees, in contract writing, that it will never increase the annual maintenance fees charged to its customers for its Enterprise 21 ERP software, regardless of business size or software purchase value.
In addition to TGI’s No Maintenance Fee Increase Guarantee, TGI also offers one year of free maintenance for Enterprise 21 ERP from the date of software installation. Smith continues, “Given that an ERP implementation may take anywhere between three and nine months to complete, we believe it is inappropriate for an ERP vendor to charge its customers for software maintenance when the business isn’t using its new manufacturing or distribution software in a live transaction environment. We see our one year of free maintenance and no maintenance fee increase guarantee offerings as strong differentiators that make us a truly unique company in the ERP industry.”
While the source of why some ERP companies have increased their maintenance fees in the past 18 months is not known, Smith offers an opinion. “In times of economic downturn and when some ERP vendors’ new software sales revenues begins to decline, it seems logical that the easiest way for those software suppliers to make up for such losses is to increase the maintenance fees charged to their existing customers. Again, we at TGI are very much opposed to this practice.”
